We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse/ Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our healthcare team to work as a double weekends nurse to pass medications. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various settings. This role involves working closely with patients of all ages, particularly in geriatrics and family planning, while ensuring adherence to SNF protocols and standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform IV insertion and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Athenahealth and coding systems.
- Conduct laboratory tests and interpret results as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about health management and disease prevention.
Qualifications
- Valid License with the Texas Nursing Board
- Familiarity with geriatrics and family planning practices is a plus.
- Proficient in IV insertion techniques and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
