Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monitoring all inbound and outbound traffic on the Nashville yard
- Ensuring all outbound trucks have all appropriate DOT requirements
- Manage traffic in the inspection lane
- Inspect equipment and drivers to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations
- Manage vendor traffic and ensure no unauthorized entrance is gained
- Understanding of regulations and required maintenance
- Ability to work with other departments in order to meet a common goal.
- Microsoft excel and Google sheets
- Internal software (AS400, TMT, Platform Science)
- Highly organized in order to manage all truck and vendor traffic coming onto and off of the yard
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Occupational Safety, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Experience in freight transportation safety, fleet management, or regulatory compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and freight-specific safety regulations and standards.
- Strong investigative, communication, and training skills.
- Ability to analyze safety data and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Certifications such as Certified Transportation Safety Professional (CTSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are an advantage.
Due to the collaborative nature of the work environment, the spontaneous need for idea generation and execution, and the potential for expedited remediations, responses, or information gathering, in-person, in-office attendance is an essential function of this position.
