Sales Account Management, Director - 19032
Job description
We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent years in the EDA world, likely starting as an Applications Engineer or Product Specialist, and you have learned that the best technical wins come from understanding the customer's business problem before you ever open the demo. You know how to sit across from a VP of Engineering at a major semiconductor company and map their 3DIC roadmap to a multi-quarter technical campaign that actually closes. You do not just hand off to the AE team and disappear. You stay in the room, manage the strategy, connect the dots between what the customer needs and what your R&D team is building, and drive alignment when things get messy.
You have seen enough long sales cycles to know that relationships matter more than slide decks. Building trust with a design director in Taiwan or a packaging architect in California is how you get the call when budgets open up or when a competitor stumbles. You are comfortable traveling to customer sites, sitting through technical deep dives, and translating what you hear into a plan that your internal teams can execute against. At Synopsys, you will work on 3DIC solutions that are shaping the future of semiconductor design, and the accounts you manage will be the ones driving that future forward.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead technical sales campaigns for 3DIC solutions across strategic semiconductor accounts, managing complex, multi-quarter engagements from discovery through close
- Drive customer discovery sessions to uncover technical requirements, business drivers, and solution fit, then translate those into actionable engagement strategies
- Serve as the primary business and sales focal point for 3DIC opportunities, coordinating across sales teams, Applications Engineers, Product Management, and R&D to keep campaigns on track
- Build and maintain executive and technical relationships across customer organizations, from engineering leads to business stakeholders, ensuring alignment at every level
- Work directly with Applications Engineering teams to align proof-of-concept activities, evaluations, and deployments with customer success criteria and timelines
- Track campaign progress, opportunity health, and forecasting accuracy using Salesforce and internal sales processes, providing regular executive updates on key engagements
- Represent Synopsys at customer meetings, industry conferences, technical workshops, and executive briefings, positioning 3DIC solutions in the context of customer roadmaps
The Impact You Will Have
- Expand 3DIC solution adoption across strategic accounts, directly driving revenue growth in one of the fastest-moving segments of semiconductor design
- Shape customer roadmaps by identifying opportunities early and aligning Synopsys capabilities with their long-term technical and business objectives
- Accelerate deal cycles by managing complex technical campaigns with clarity, keeping internal and external stakeholders aligned on next steps and success criteria
- Influence product direction by feeding market requirements, competitive insights, and customer feedback directly to Product Management and R&D teams
- Build lasting customer relationships that create pipeline visibility and repeat business across multiple product lines and design teams
- Strengthen cross-functional collaboration between Sales, Applications Engineering, Product Management, and R&D, ensuring technical campaigns are executed with precision
- Position Synopsys as the trusted partner for 3DIC innovation, helping customers solve advanced packaging challenges that define the next generation of semiconductor products
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of experience in EDA sales, Applications Engineering, or Product Specialist roles with a strong technical foundation in semiconductor design or advanced packaging technologies
- Direct experience in the 3D IC market segment, including familiarity with chiplet architectures, advantage packaging (interposer) and substrate design, and System Technology Co-Optimization (STCO).
- Proven ability to manage long-term enterprise sales engagements, including multi-quarter technical campaigns with multiple stakeholders and complex decision cycles
- Strong relationship-building skills with a track record of developing executive and technical relationships across customer organizations
- Ability to collaborate internally with Product Management and R&D teams to align customer requirements with product capabilities and roadmaps
- Willingness to travel up to 30% to customer sites, industry events, and internal meetings
- Experience using CRM systems like Salesforce to track opportunities, forecast accurately, and provide visibility into campaign progress
Who You Are
- You can walk into a technical deep dive with a customer's design team, absorb what matters, and walk out with a clear campaign plan that your AE team can execute
- You know how to manage a sales cycle that spans six months or more without losing momentum, keeping internal teams aligned and customers engaged at every milestone
- You push back when a technical proposal does not match the customer's actual problem, and you work with internal teams to find a better answer or set realistic expectations
- You are comfortable navigating complex organizational dynamics, both inside Synopsys and at customer sites, to drive alignment and move deals forward
- You treat customer feedback as product intelligence, not just sales noise, and you know how to package it in a way that R&D and Product Management can act on
- You do not wait for perfect information to move, you ask the right questions, align stakeholders, and create clarity where there was ambiguity
The Team You'll Be Part Of
Your recruiter will share more about the team structure and mission during the interview process.
