Job Description:
We are seeking a Seasonal Garden Center Associate to assist with sales, customer service, and product presentation from September 1st through December 24th. This is a physically active, customer-focused role that requires a strong work ethic, plant knowledge, and a creative eye for seasonal displays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with plant selection and seasonal décor
- Provide knowledgeable support on annuals and perennials appropriate for USDA Zone 6
- Maintain and merchandise seasonal products, including but not limited to
-Fall: mums, pumpkins, fall annuals
- Holiday: fresh wreaths, garlands, poinsettias, and decorative items.
- Working with the design team to create seasonal containers and custom decorated wreaths etc.
- Restock displays and maintain cleanliness and organization
- Support general daily operations and assist where needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a garden center or related horticultural field
- Knowledge of annuals and perennials appropriate for Zone 6
- Must be fluent in English
- Comfortable with physical labor in an outdoor/indoor setting
- Able to lift 30 lbs unassisted
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Aesthetic eye for holiday decorating is a plus
Seasonal Term and re-hire potential
- Seasonal position from September 1st through December 24th
- Full-time hours required
- Must be available to work Saturdays and extended hours during peak times
- Opportunities for re-hire in the spring season (starting March 15th) based on performance and staffing needs
Compensation: Based on experience. Starting at $20/hour
