Seasonal Garden Center Merchandiser
JOB SUMMARY:
Meadowridge Inc, is a family-owned company and a leader in supplying beautiful plants to Garden Centers across the central United States and is currently staffing for the 2025 season.
We are looking for seasonal garden center merchandisers to work in leading retail locations. Our merchandisers enjoy challenging yet rewarding work with flexible schedules in an outdoor work environment at a competitive pay rate. Merchandisers are responsible for various functions such as: unloading deliveries while creating attention-grabbing displays with beautiful live plants, monitoring product placement, plant care, placing the appropriate signage at the product display and turning in a weekly report. While present in retail centers the merchandiser will represent Meadowridge Inc. by providing outstanding and professional customer service to the customer and their guest.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists retail centers in setting displays, consolidating and basic plant care to maximize live good sales.
2. Off load racks and set displays of live good products.
3. Works well independently with little or to no supervision.
4. Maintain, replenish and rotate stock, toss expired product when necessary.
5. Greets customers, vendors and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
6. Reports store issues and accomplishments in a weekly store report.
7. Be aware of delivery schedules, make sure displays have proper signs and prices.
8. Must be able to communicate in a professional and courteous manner to build trustworthy relationships.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School diploma; or equivalent and must be 18.
2. One-year related work experience.
3. Proficiency with computer, access to email, internet, telephone and any tools or equipment related to job.
4. The ability to lift or pull 40 lbs. Must be able to walk and stand for entire shift and to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
5. Appropriate attire and work ethic are essential
6. Must be able to work varied hours, including occasional weekends.
The ideal candidate will have merchandising experience, horticulture knowledge or landscape experience; training is also available for enthusiastic gardeners and hardworking individuals with a desire to learn more about the lawn and garden industry. Merchandisers must also have a positive and professional attitude, reliable transportation, home/cellular phone contact, valid email address, and be able to pass required background check.
Hours vary by week.
Season runs from April until Mid-October.
