JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking vigilant and dependable Security Guards to help ensure the safety and smooth operation of events at our Racing Event Complex. This role involves monitoring crowds, securing access points, patrolling the venue, and responding to incidents in a timely and professional manner. Successful candidates must have excellent observation skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor entrance and exit points, verifying credentials and tickets.
- Perform regular patrols throughout the complex to deter and detect suspicious behavior.
- Maintain crowd control and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations promptly and effectively.
- Enforce event rules and venue policies consistently and professionally.
- Report and document all incidents, accidents, and security breaches to the Sweetwater Downs Security Director.
- Provide assistance and direction to guests, staff, and emergency services as needed.
- Support evacuation procedures in case of emergencies.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and communicate via radio with other security personnel.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid security license or guard card (as required by local/state regulations)
- Previous experience in event security, crowd control, or law enforcement preferred.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods and work in outdoor environments.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Outdoor racing complex with varying weather conditions.
- High-volume crowds, noise, and fast-paced event days.
- Standing, walking, and physical engagement required during long shifts.
Must be 21 or older. Starting pay is $18.00/hour.
