Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing, constructing, testing, and maintaining scalable data architectures and processing systems.
  • Developing and optimizing automated ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load enterprise data sources.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, data scientists, and analysts to define data interoperability standards.
  • Conducting performance tuning, data validation, and troubleshooting across complex database environments.
  • Maintaining data baselines, configuration management controls, and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Recommending and implementing process improvements to enhance system reliability, data quality, and scalability.

Minimum

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
    • OR a master’s degree and 3+ or more years of relevant experience
    • OR an associate’s degree and 7+ or more years of relevant experience
    • OR a high school diploma and 9+ or more years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience building and managing scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and relational databases. Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, database engineering, and automated workflow orchestration tools. Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex technical documentation and data architectures.

Preferred

Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Databricks Certified Data Engineer.
  • Prior experience supporting U.S. Military Command operations or Department of Defense enterprise data environments.
  • Familiarity with real-time streaming architectures, data governance frameworks, and containerization technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary technical teams to drive data platform improvements.

Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
