The Role We Want You For
As a Senior Electrical Preconstruction Engineer, you will drive the bidding process for electrical construction projects by crafting precise conceptual and hard dollar estimates, developing proposals, and managing subcontractor bids. You will ensure the accuracy and completeness of all electrical project documents, perform quantity take-offs, conduct constructability reviews, and implement value engineering analyses. Your contributions will be crucial in shaping departmental strategies and fostering continuous improvement.
The Specifics of the Role
- Applies the principles of construction management to provide high level support to the project staff to ensure quality and timely execution of all phases of design/build projects.
- Evaluate the invitation to Bid (ITB) scope pursuit projects.
- Monitor bids for subcontractor outreach.
- Estimate internal electrical take off.
- Evaluate and recommend bids for subcontractors.
- Resolve issues between field team and preconstruction efforts.
- Assist with electrical take offs, change orders, and owner requests.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree (Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field) or foreign degree equivalent.
- 2 years of relevant experience.
- 2 years of experience with estimating and project management experience.
- 2 years of experience with interpreting technical drawings and scope of work.
- 2 years of experience with constructability review of technical documents.
- 2 years of experience with including drawings and specifications.
- In addition, the position requires domestic travel up to 5% to visit project sites.
