Job description

Bison Group – Mission First. People Always.

At Bison Group LLC, we’re more than a defense contractor — we’re a people-focused small business with a strong culture built on trust, respect, and impact. We value every member of the team, foster open communication without the layers of a big corporation, and stand firmly behind our commitment to the veteran community through real, tangible action.

When you join Bison Group, you’re not just filling a role — you’re stepping into a mission-critical environment where your work directly supports the national security objectives. Here, your skills are recognized, your growth is encouraged, and your contributions have a clear purpose.

Senior Technical Editor shall:

  • Serve as the lead technical editor for finished intelligence products, ensuring all written analyses meet established Intelligence Community (IC) standards for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Review, edit, and format complex intelligence assessments, reports, briefings, and executive-level products for grammar, style, structure, logic, and adherence to classification and dissemination requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with intelligence analysts, subject matter experts, and production teams to improve the quality and effectiveness of written intelligence products while preserving analytic judgments and key findings.
  • Verify compliance with organizational, customer, and IC publication standards; maintain editorial style guides and quality control processes; and provide constructive feedback and mentoring to authors to enhance writing and communication skills.
  • Manage multiple time-sensitive production schedules, coordinate product review workflows, and ensure final intelligence deliverables are publication-ready and suitable for senior government, defense, and national security decision-makers.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise editing and preparing finished intelligence products for senior government, military, and national security decision-makers.
  • In-depth knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) editorial, production, tradecraft, dissemination, and publication standards.
  • Proven ability to review and edit complex intelligence assessments, reports, briefings, and other intelligence products for grammar, punctuation, syntax, clarity, logic, consistency, readability, and analytic integrity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IC and DoD classification guidance, marking requirements, and information handling procedures, including the ability to ensure products comply with applicable security standards.
  • Experience ensuring adherence to agency style guides, publication standards, and specialized intelligence terminology across multiple subject matter areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently coordinate with analysts, authors, subject matter experts, and leadership to improve product quality, narrative organization, and presentation while preserving analytic meaning and intent.
  • Experience reviewing and revising tables, graphics, callout boxes, and other visual elements to ensure consistency with accompanying intelligence narratives.
  • Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate complex, incomplete, highly technical, or multi-source information in a concise and organized manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight while managing multiple products, competing priorities, and tight production deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive editorial feedback, facilitate revisions, and resolve differences regarding content, organization, and presentation.
