Skills mentioned

RINA S.p.A. is a multinational company with a rich history dating back to its foundation in Genoa, Italy, in 1861 as the Registro Italiano Navale (Italian Naval Register). Initially established as a ship classification society to serve the needs of the Italian maritime industry, RINA has evolved significantly over its more than 160 years of operation. For its first 140 years, the organization primarily focused on ensuring the safety and seaworthiness of vessels flying the Italian flag. A pivotal moment in its history came in 1999 when a European Council directive liberalized the ship classification market. In response, the original entity transferred its operational activities to a new entity, RINA S.p.A., transforming it into a competitive, market-driven organization. This strategic shift marked the beginning of a significant diversification of its services beyond the marine sector. Today, RINA is a global provider of a wide array of services across multiple sectors, including Energy, Marine, Certification, Industry, and Real Estate & Infrastructure. The company has expanded its core competencies to encompass testing, inspection, certification (TIC), and engineering consultancy. This multidisciplinary approach enables RINA to support clients throughout the entire value chain of their projects, from feasibility studies and design to construction, management, and decommissioning. With a strong emphasis on sustainability, digitalization, and the energy transition, RINA is committed to helping its clients navigate complex challenges and achieve their goals in a responsible manner. The company actively participates in major international organizations and contributes to the development of new regulatory standards, underscoring its role as a key player in the global industrial landscape. Headquartered in Genoa, RINA boasts a significant global presence, with a network of offices, excellence centers, and laboratories in numerous countries, serving a diverse international clientele.
