Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable detail-oriented Service and Parts Supervisor to direct the service and parts workflow. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience. This position has a crucial role within the company. It requires collaboration with technicians and customers and following established processes to ensure smooth operations and a positive customer experience.
SERVICE AND PARTS SUPERVISOR
The supervisor is the face and voice of the company to the customer and the public. A good reputation is imperative to us. Honesty and integrity are essential as well as a vision for growth. The service supervisor sets the pace and culture of the business with a goal to steadily grow the service department. The purpose is to produce good customers for life and good employees for life.
RESPONSIBILITIES Service and Parts Workflow
- Repair work- Plan out the repairs in the Field and in the Shop. Set appropriate goals. We have an incentive program that may be implemented. Participation in repair work may be required.
- Parts- Sourcing, ordering, inventory and organization. Proactive planning for the necessary parts to arrive prior to the road repair appointments and ordering stock when needed.
- Service Repair Workflow: Overseeing service jobs, how they will be handled and completed for maximum profit and efficiency. Setting appropriate goals and collaborating with technicians to identify problems and determine the necessary course of repairs. Confirming that the proper paperwork is provided to the technician, accurate recording of repair times and technician productivity reporting. Final Review of work completed prior to delivery. Addressing any customer concerns or questions and ensuring they feel satisfied with the service received. All information pertaining to a shop repair is recorded on the work sheet assigned to the technician.
- Equipment Organization: Initial evaluations, Coordinating drop off and deliveries, PDI’s, PM’s etc…
- Estimates and Invoicing: All estimates/invoices will need to be reviewed and clearly communicating the nature of associated repairs and costs to customers. Some generation of invoices.
- Customer Service: Provide a welcoming experience and understanding the customer equipment concerns. Selling honest additional services and repairs by suggesting and explaining repairs that may be beneficial to the customer and/or advising when equipment is better replaced than repaired.
- Working with parts and inventory: Research necessary parts for service and maintenance work. Keeping supply of filters, commonly used parts, and consumables. Simple van tool and parts inventory. Oversee van maintenance.
- Shop and parts room organization and cleanliness. Oversee used oil, scrap battery, and scrap metal programs. MSD sheet compliance, and bi-weekly staff safety meetings.
- Frequent communications with technicians to ensure they are supported and connected. Recognize techs for their accomplishments and identify areas where growth is needed. Participate in providing training, career development, and performance reviews.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge of Industrial Equipment, Troubleshooting skills with Hydraulic, Electrical, Fuel & Mechanical repairs, Forklift Operator Certification (will provide), Good Business Sense, Strong Customer Service and Communication Skills, Time Management and Organization, Problem Solving, Computer and Software Skills
