Tracey Road Equipment, Inc. is hiring a Service Clerk for the Wilkes Barre office.
The Service Clerk plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our service shop. This position involves scheduling work orders, managing administrative and paperwork tasks, and delivering exceptional customer service. A successful Service Clerk will have previous experience with heavy trucks and equipment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule service appointments and work orders efficiently to meet customer needs and shop capacity.
- Communicate with technicians and the Service Manager to ensure timely completion of jobs.
- Coordinate with customers to confirm service details, updates, and job completions.
- Monitor service intervals on customer equipment.
- Open, review, complete, and close out work orders/repair orders.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, invoices, and service history.
- Process incoming service-related paperwork and ensure proper filing and documentation.
- Assist with warranty claims and ensure proper documentation is submitted on time.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding job status, pricing, and any changes to timelines.
- Address and resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Stay informed about service processes, shop policies, and industry trends.
- Support the Service Manager with special projects and shop operations as needed.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and shop management software.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with heavy trucks, construction equipment, or related industries.
- Previous experience in a service department or administrative role is preferred.
