Southern Trailer Works is currently seeking to hire a full-time service writer. We are a privately and locally owned business in Schriever, LA specializing in farm tractor, equipment trailer, and lawnmower sales and service.
The Service Writer position greets all service customers and serves as the primary point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and support while facilitating communication between customers and our skilled technicians as well as the service coordinator. It will require strong computer and typing skills. Experience with tractor and trailer parts sales and dealing with the general public is required.
Pay is based on customer service experience and job performance.
Purpose:
This position is responsible for writing all work orders for tractor and trailer service. Communicating clearly with costumers is key to successfully preforming this role. It is a high-volume position which requires the successful candidate to be very self-motivated and a team player. Customer satisfaction is priority.
Position:
The Service Writer is responsible for computer generated service work orders that clearly gives the service technician the instructions needed to complete their task on equipment being serviced.
- Enter customer information in the dealership management system.
- Receiving detailed information from the customer on the service needing to be completed.
-Clearly capture all work needing to be performed for the customer.
- Assist techs with understanding what is needed.
Roles:
- Greet all customers with a friendly attitude
- Create and maintain service work orders
- Assist with creating quotes for service
- Assist parts department
- Back fill for service coordinator as needed
- Keep customer updated daily
Responsibilities:
- Maintain all work orders
- Keep work area clean
- Assure all service meets customer expectations
- Help answer phones
Expectations:
- Learn dealer management system and all paper work needed to complete work orders.
- Learn manufactures web-based portals.
- Become a team player to assist other store departments
- Work alternate Saturdays from March through October
Skills:
- Ability to build a strong customer relationship
- Basic computer skills (Email, Word, Excel)
- Basic calculator skills (margins, mark up, and taxes)
- Basic mechanical understanding
- Multi-tasking a plus
- Basic tractor and trailer knowledge
This position pays an hourly base pay with overtime as applicable.
Holiday pay and sick leave once vested.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
