Sewing Machine Operator I

What you know:

• How to follow directions, both verbally and written
• How to work well with a team on common goals, while also working independently on tasks assigned
• How to identify flaws in materials/product or errors in production, making adjustments as needed
• How to work well with your hands, ensuring steady and accurate work
• Proficiency in industrial sewing is a plus, but not required if you’re eager to learn

What you’ll do:

• Operate or tend sewing machines, performing basic operations such as seaming and basic binding
• Ensure production order requirements are adhered to and sewn products meet quality control standards
• Light assembly work as needed
• Restocking of supplies when necessary
• Inspection of parts/products for any defects
• Clean up of work area daily
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

Several hours sitting with frequent bending and movement

Some hours standing

Occasional lifting 30 pounds or less

Limited exposure to environmental conditions standard in a production environment
