Overview
A Sheet Metal Manager in commercial roofing manages and oversees all aspects of sheet metal fabrication and installation on commercial roofing projects. This role is responsible for coordinating with superintendents, ensuring quality control, and managing resources to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Duties
- Managing Fabrication: Overseeing the fabrication of sheet metal components, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Installation Coordination: Coordinating with roofing crews to ensure proper installation of sheet metal roofing systems.
- Project Management: Managing budgets, schedules, and resources for sheet metal projects.
- Quality Control: Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure the integrity of the final product.
- Team Leadership: Leading and motivating sheet metal workers and installers.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures on the job site.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience: Several years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation, preferably in commercial roofing.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, roofing systems, and relevant safety regulations.
- Management Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during fabrication or installation.
- Computer Skills: Able to navigate roofing software. Excel and Word knowledge is a plus.
