Site Reliability Engineer - Junior
Primary Location: Quantico, VA

Job Summary
We are seeking a Junior Site Reliability Engineer to support the performance, reliability, and security of enterprise infrastructure across development and production environments. This entry-level role focuses on automation, monitoring, and incident response in a secure, mission-critical setting. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, technically curious, and ready to contribute to infrastructure sustainment and optimization.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining infrastructure performance and availability across development and production environments
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automation for system monitoring, patching, and recovery
- Troubleshoot service disruptions and assist with root cause analysis and resolution
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and cybersecurity teams to support secure and scalable system operations
- Document system events, changes, and performance metrics in accordance with operational standards
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- 0–3 years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Ansible)
- Basic scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Exposure to cloud and virtualization technologies (e.g., AWS, OCI, VMware)
- Understanding of system monitoring, alerting, and log analysis tools
- Knowledge of backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting secure federal or defense-related IT environments
- Familiarity with Oracle Exadata, ZFS, and InfiniBand networking
- Exposure to Agile/SAFe environments and participation in sprint-based workflows
- Understanding of IAVA compliance, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity standards
- Experience supporting capacity planning and performance tuning
- Interest in learning automation, monitoring, and incident response best practices

- Hybrid work environment at Quantico, VA site
- Standard office environment with occasional on-site infrastructure support
