Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our construction sites. This position involves implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of health and safety among all employees. The Safety Officer will work closely with management to ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) regulations and other relevant compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Perform risk management assessments to evaluate risks associated with construction activities.
- Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with construction management teams to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain records related to workers' compensation claims, safety training sessions, and compliance audits.
- Serve as the point of contact for all safety-related inquiries from employees, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Experience
- Proven experience in a safety role within the construction industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and compliance management practices.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards is a plus.
- Strong understanding of occupational health principles as they relate to construction environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train staff on safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across various teams while promoting a culture of safety.
- Certification in relevant safety programs or training (e.g., OSHA 30-hour) is highly desirable.
- EM 385 Certification required.

Pay: $88,000.00 - $108,000.00 per year
