A finisher works in construction, coordinating the final touches of a building project. The finisher is able to lead a team to complete a project. Finishers apply paint, wallpaper, and plaster to make surfaces aesthetically pleasing. They prepare surfaces for finishing and may use a variety of tools to achieve the desired result. They work on interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, floors, ceilings, and trim. Finishers must have an eye for detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Duties:
- Manage a jobsite and crew.
-Perform finish carpentry tasks such as trim work, molding installation, and cabinetry
- Install metal stud framing for walls and ceilings
- Hang drywall and apply joint compound to create smooth surfaces
- Install roofing materials, including shingles or metal panels
- Install various types of flooring, such as hardwood, laminate, or tile
- Operate heavy equipment for tasks such as excavation or demolition
- Assist with frame carpentry, including measuring, cutting, and assembling wooden structures
- Interpret and follow schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate construction
- Apply caulk and other sealants to ensure airtightness and weatherproofing
- Weld metal components as needed
Skills:
- Proficient in carpentry techniques and tools
- Knowledge of metal stud framing and drywall installation
- Experience with roofing materials and installation methods
- Familiarity with various types of flooring installation techniques
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of frame carpentry principles and practices
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints accurately
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for airtightness and weatherproofing
This position requires a skilled finisher with experience in general construction, metal stud framing, drywall installation, roofing, flooring installation, equipment operation, carpentry, plumbing. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of finish carpentry tasks as well as assisting with other construction-related duties. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
