Position Summary
The Bridge Academy Liaison is responsible for facilitating the LifeWorks Bridge Academy program on campus. This role is vital in helping neurodivergent KCTCS students succeed academically and transition into independent life. The Liaison provides group instruction, individualized support, and collaborative guidance, ensuring students connect with appropriate services, resources, organizations, and enrichment opportunities
Employment Type : Part Time (25 hours/week - 40 weeks/year)
Expectations
Deliver curriculum and programming exactly as designed to a cohort of 6-12 KCTCS students.
Be in attendance whenever school is in session to avoid gaps in program delivery and student support.
Master the LifeWorks software to deliver and oversee Bridge Academy program elements.
Meet periodically with LifeWorks state leadership and stakeholders and participate in Liaison trainings.
If employed through KCTCS payroll, additional duties or compliance may be required per KCTCS policy
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and facilitate LifeWorks Bridge Academy programming as designed, including:
- Group curriculum instruction
- Skill review sessions
- Study sessions
- Monthly social/recreational offerings
Conduct individual meetings with students to review progress, identify challenges, and support growth.
Monitor student participation and document outcomes per LifeWorks procedures.
Monitor and oversee student schedules, grades, and person centered plans.
Use required software systems for program design, notes, curriculum review, and service tracking.
Assist students in accessing key campus services, such as:
- Academic Advising, Financial Aid, Tutoring, Career Advising, Counseling, Accessibility Services, etc.
Collaborate with campus staff and student support services to support program participant success.
- Network and develop positive relationships with support service personnel and campus staff..
- Create a “how-to” guide for each student support service for reference by program participants.
- Oversee and facilitate a schedule of campus support presentations for program participants.
- Communicate with advisors and faculty advisors as appropriate to support program participants.
Follow communication standards with the LifeWorks statewide program director and Board of Directors.
Collect and submit relevant student information required by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Gather and submit data required to track program effectiveness and outcomes.
Participate in required trainings, statewide meetings, and professional development to ensure consistent and effective program implementation.
Promote student independence and self-determination while providing personalized support to each.
Provide support to campus staff and faculty by facilitating LifeWorks trainings and seminars.
Consistently exhibit professionalism and adhere to the LifeWorks support philosophy and practices.
