SUMMARY
Assembles electrical and mechanical components according to information provided to produce a quality Slip Ring in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mechanical assembly of various size structural and electrical components.
- Electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
- Operates necessary tools, as listed on the job description, to aid in the assembly of slip ring products.
- Connects color-coded and numbered wires.
- Solders connections and crimps connectors to wire end.
- Tests and adjusts electrical assemblies.
- Understands inventory tools, such as work order, BOM, and TR cards.
- Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with a supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
- Coordinates and communicates department needs with a supervisor.
- Responsible for the quality of the product being produced in the department.
- Responsible for checking the accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing offices' input to ensure customer final product is correct and within quality acceptance guidelines. Any changes or corrections must be communicated to appropriate departments, so future product output is consistent with customer expectations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS
Must be able to read a tape measure and have fabrication skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, BOMs, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write and/or verbally communicate correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Employee must be willing and able to successfully pass our in-house forklift & overhead crane certification program prior to operating these machines within our facility. Operating these machines is an essential function of this role. This certification program will assess proficiency in safe operation according to our company’s standards and protocols. Training will be provided.
