Position Summary
The Snow Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all snow and ice management services. This role involves overseeing personnel and subcontractors, ensuring client satisfaction, maintaining high safety standards, and collaborating across departments to support the growth of the snow division. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and leader who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex, fast-moving operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all snow and ice removal operations, including pre-season planning, in-season execution, and post-season evaluations.
- Organize and lead a snow Kickoff Meeting with all T&K employees prior to the start of the snow season.
- Organize and lead a snow Kickoff Meeting with all subcontractors prior to the start of the snow season.
- Develop and continuously refine pre-, during-, and post-storm processes to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery and customer support.
- Recruit, train, and supervise snow removal crews and subcontractors, ensuring they are well-prepared and aligned with company standards.
- Monitor weather conditions, adjust operations accordingly, and coordinate the timely deployment of staff and equipment.
- Oversee the use, maintenance, and readiness of snow removal equipment and materials.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and operational procedures to protect employees, clients, and the public.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, addressing concerns promptly and ensuring satisfaction with the services provided.
- Review end-of-season snow damage with customers and coordinate with scheduling to ensure timely completion of repair work.
- Build and maintain a year-round network of qualified subcontractors to support operational readiness and scalability.
- Work closely with company leadership to grow the snow department strategically, identifying areas for innovation and improvement.
- Evaluate, prepare, and price quotes and competitive bids for snow services.
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to evaluate the performance of completed jobs and identify areas for improvement.
- Partner with the Marketing Team to develop creative marketing strategies to support snow division growth.
- Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure accurate and timely snow invoicing, including but not limited to reviewing all incoming snow subcontractor invoices for accuracy, and reviewing and approving all outgoing invoices to our customers.
- Communicate effectively and regularly via Zoom with all internal teams and stakeholders regarding storm planning, execution strategies, and operational updates.
- Attend and represent the company at relevant snow and landscape industry trade shows and professional events.
- Track job progress, time logs, and material usage for accurate billing and performance analysis.
- Maintain detailed records of operations, incidents, and equipment maintenance.
- Foster a positive team culture built around accountability, respect, safety, and professional development.
- Use Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for operational reporting, process documentation, training materials, and presentations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of leadership experience in snow removal or related field operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Experience working collaboratively with sales, marketing, and finance teams.
- Strong knowledge of snow and ice management techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to evaluate, price, and present service bids and proposals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and contractors in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during snow events.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
- Familiarity with snow operations software or GPS fleet tracking tools is a plus.
- Proficiency with snow operations software or mobile workforce platforms is a plus.
