The mission of West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to “Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line.” WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Our vision is to ensure the Long Gray Line remains the most highly connected alumni body in the world. USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership development institution. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400, and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
WPAOG seeks a full-time Society Engagement Coordinator to support its network of over 130 West Point Societies worldwide. This position plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing communication, coordination, and support to society leaders and partners, as well as contributing to broader group engagement strategies. The coordinator helps manage the Society Services program, performs a range of administrative, engagement, and technical duties, and provides cross-functional support across the Alumni Support department.
The Society Engagement Coordinator is responsible for updating and maintaining digital records and email listservs, supporting Society events and web content in Sallyport, managing surveys, and assisting with programs like the Distinguished Society Award and National Volunteer Week. The position coordinates webinars, meetings, and communications; posts updates across WPAOG platforms; ensures toolkits and publications are current; and helps execute alumni events such as Founders Day, away-game tailgates, and the annual Leaders Conference. The coordinator also manages the Alumni License Plate program and provides excellent customer service through daily interactions with alumni and volunteers, often serving as the first point of contact for inquiries.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, skilled in both independent and team-based work, and proficient with a variety of digital tools and platforms. The position requires strong oral and written communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be comfortable with databases, online publishing tools, and general office technology. Familiarity with military culture, West Point, or alumni engagement is strongly preferred. Occasional night, weekend, and holiday work is required, along with some travel and lifting during event support.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with experience in a professional or nonprofit environment. Military experience or knowledge of Army career paths is desirable.
We offer a pleasant working environment. The salary range for this role is approximately $58,000-$60,850, depending on skills and experience. The incumbent must live within commuting distance of West Point. Please submit cover letter, resume and letters of reference.
