The Asphalt Scheduler is responsible for scheduling asphalt and asphalt related raw materials through different distribution channels and modes of transportation to ensure timely delivery of the right material to the correct location. The candidate will develop the schedules, monitor inventories, monitor daily operational status of deliveries and receipts for the asphalt network. The Asphalt Scheduler will coordinate with multiple groups including Supply Chain, S&T, Business Leaders, Finance, Commercial Team, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to gain and provide insight towards improving supplier lead times, order quantities, and inventory management that results in a robust plan and execution. The Scheduler is required to be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, and team oriented. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate activities across several internal functional areas as well as with external vendors, carriers, and plant personnel.

- Schedules movements via various distribution channels. Responds to unexpected events making contingency arrangements to minimize disruption of product supply. Ensures relevant data is captured accurately and recorded.
- Proactively communicates and verifies planned movements with sourcing, suppliers, transport companies, and delivery locations.
- Acts as a liaison between production planning, operations, commercial sales, and external suppliers in managing the supply of raw materials and minimizing freight costs, including demurrage and detention.
- Supports purchase order entry, goods receipts not invoiced (GRNI's), invoice kick outs and other administrative tracking procedures to ensure suppliers are paid timely and accurately.
- Manage OC asphalt railcar fleet ensuring leased assets are effectively and economically deployed in a variable market environment.
- Develop influential working relationship with the asphalt plant teams and key business partners by providing insight and advice that consistently improves thinking and decision-making processes and outcomes.
- Deeply understands the requirements and constraints of the plant and acts decisively to shape its outcome by influencing suppliers, transportation & sourcing through execution. Takes initiative and articulates ideas passionately and persuasively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field
- 2+ years of relevant supply chain experience
- General experience in procurement, transportation, supply chain, customer service, or materials management
- Previous experience utilizing order fulfillment and network optimization software programs (i.e., SAP, Excel, Power BI)
- Critical thinking, analytical skills and problem solving
- Sound business judgement/acumen
- Can operate in a fast paced, day to day operations work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, utilizing appropriate mediums
- A sense of curiosity
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
