Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for educating students in the Spanish language, culture, and literature. This role requires an individual who is not only proficient in Spanish but also skilled in instructional design and classroom management. The Spanish Teacher will engage students through innovative teaching methods, including Montessori techniques, while providing academic advising and support.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote language acquisition.
- Conduct classroom instruction that fosters student participation and encourages the use of Spanish in various contexts.
- Provide academic advising to students, guiding them in their language learning journey and addressing individual needs.
- Utilize standardized testing methods to assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Incorporate Montessori principles to enhance the learning experience for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design instructional materials that support the curriculum and meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring special education services.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring all materials are accessible and well-managed.
- Engage with library services to integrate resources that enrich the educational experience.
Experience
- A degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field with a focus on language instruction is preferred.
- Proven experience in classroom teaching, particularly in language education or related subjects.
- Familiarity with academic advising practices and the ability to provide personalized support to students.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and experience creating effective lesson plans.
- Experience working within a Montessori framework is highly desirable.
- Understanding of standardized testing procedures and how they apply to language education.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.
