Job description

Sr Consumer Congress Manager

Location: Søborg, Denmark

Department: Congresses, Product & Portfolio Strategy

Your impact begins here

As Sr Consumer Congress Manager, you will drive the strategy, planning and execution of our global consumer congresses presence, from first plan to final follow-up. You will turn strategy, tactics, content, channels, logistics, vendors and several stakeholders into one seamless experience that delivers value to consumers and measurable business impact. Your decisions will shape how Novo shows up at consumer congresses worldwide – and help build a future-fit consumer congress model that keeps us competitive where it matters.

What you’ll bring

You are an experienced project leader who is at ease with complexity, short-notice changes and decisions that need alignment across many teams. You will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in congress or conference management, with strong project management skills.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex projects, including planning and executing large-scale events or congresses – logistics, vendors and attendee experience both onsite and online.
  • Experience managing budgets and allocating resources for cost efficiency and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead without direct authority and build alignment with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, both internally and externally.
  • A structured, pragmatic approach to analysing complex problems, weighing cross-functional impact and making decisions with speed.
  • Willingness to travel 15–20 days per year.

What you’ll do

You will hold 360-degree oversight of our consumer congresses, making sure every part of the experience works together – before, during and after each event, onsite and online. You will:

  • Drive the global consumer congress strategy, planning, execution and performance.
  • Lead the cross-functional core project team, keeping all relevant stakeholders informed and aligned at every stage.
  • Oversee the timely development of congress content and advise on marketing and corporate brand campaigns that create business impact at the congresses.
  • Manage logistics, agencies, vendors and suppliers to deliver high-quality congresses within budget.
  • Bring ideas and improvements to your manager that shape the future congress experience, while making sure compliance and quality requirements are met.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the Congresses team in Product & Portfolio Strategy, where colleagues connect commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across therapy areas.

Your work is global. You will partner with leaders and colleagues across Product & Portfolio Strategy, International Operations and US Operations – at global, regional and affiliate level – as well as People, Organisation & Corporate Affairs, Corporate Legal and other functions. Externally, you will work closely with agencies, vendors, suppliers and thought leaders.

With congresses taking place worldwide, you will meet stakeholders in person and virtually across time zones. Your ability to create clarity, speak up when things stall and bring people together behind one plan will keep momentum high.

What you can expect here

You will take on work that is varied, complex and often without precedent. That means real ownership: you will be trusted to prioritise, take initiative and make decisions, and your deliverables may be adopted across functions. You will build skills in global stakeholder leadership, negotiation and large-scale event delivery, while working alongside colleagues who value curiosity, honest feedback and raising the bar together.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600.00 to 1,091,600.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

We are a global healthcare company, founded in 1923 and headquartered just outside Copenhagen, Denmark. Our purpose is to drive change to defeat serious chronic diseases, built upon our heritage in diabetes. We do so by pioneering scientific breakthroughs, expanding access to our medicines, and working to prevent and ultimately cure the diseases we treat. Our story began over 100 years ago when two small Danish companies started producing the revolutionary new drug, insulin, which had just been discovered by Canadian scientists. These companies, Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium and Novo Terapeutisk Laboratorium, were established by individuals driven by a common goal: to make life-saving insulin available to people with diabetes in Denmark and beyond. August Krogh, a Nobel laureate, and his wife Marie, a physician whose own diabetes fueled their quest, played a pivotal role in bringing insulin production to Denmark, leading to the founding of Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium in 1923. Shortly after, in 1925, the Pedersen brothers, former Nordisk employees, established Novo Terapeutisk Laboratorium, creating a dynamic of competition and innovation that would characterize the Danish pharmaceutical landscape for decades. After years of parallel growth and groundbreaking research, these two entities merged in 1989 to form Novo Nordisk A/S, a company that has since expanded rapidly. Today, we are a world leader not only in diabetes care but also in obesity care, haemophilia care, and therapies for rare endocrine disorders. Our commitment extends beyond developing innovative medicines; we strive to make them accessible to patients worldwide. We employ more than 77,000 people across 80 offices globally and market our products in approximately 170 countries. The Novo Nordisk Way, our set of guiding principles, is rooted in the vision of our founders and continues to inspire our thousands of colleagues. We are dedicated to applying our passion, skills, and commitment to defeat serious chronic diseases that affect hundreds of millions of people and represent some of the most urgent global health challenges. Our U.S. headquarters is located in Plainsboro, New Jersey, playing a vital role in the life sciences industry through sales, marketing, and clinical trial management for all Novo Nordisk U.S. products. We are also significantly investing in manufacturing capabilities, including a $4.1 billion expansion in North Carolina, to meet the growing demand for our diabetes and obesity medications.
