Staff Developer– Agent Team
About Daybreak
At Daybreak, our mission is to Break Barriers. Every Day.
We build AI-native enterprise software to help manufacturers and supply chains around the world eliminate waste and volatility. Traditional rules-based systems aren’t equipped to handle today’s fast-changing environments — so we’re designing intelligent systems that think, adapt, and learn.
The Staff Developer will be responsible for leading the architecture and implementation of agentic workflows across the Daybreak platform. They will design, build, and maintain autonomous agents that support forecasting, decision-making, and planning use cases. This person will be accountable for delivering scalable, reliable, and explainable agentic systems that integrate with our prediction, decision, and data stores. They’ll work cross-functionally with product, design, and data teams to define agent behavior, optimize performance, and ensure high-quality user experiences.
What you’ll do
Build and Scale Data & ML Infrastructure
- Design and scale robust data pipelines and platforms (e.g. Redshift, Databricks, Airflow)
- Lead complex data transformation and integration efforts across our platform
- Optimize for performance, reliability, and cost at scale
Drive GenAI and Agentic System Development
- Architect and prototype LLM-powered systems, including RAG pipelines and agent-based workflows
- Collaborate on the design of intelligent systems to automate repetitive data science and planning tasks
- Define standards around GenAI integration, streaming, and performance tuning
Enable
MLOps and Automation
- Build and maintain ML platform tooling to support model deployment, observability, and lifecycle management
- Develop internal tooling and systems to improve experimentation, evaluation, and reproducibility
Collaborate and Mentor
- Work across functions with data scientists, ML engineers, and product managers
- Provide technical mentorship and raise the engineering bar across teams
- Contribute to interviews, hiring plans, and team culture
What We’re Looking For

- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in Python
- Deep experience building production systems that interact with LLMs or other AI/ML models
- Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, DSPy, or custom agent frameworks
- Strong understanding of API integration, orchestration logic, and system design
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerized services
- Proven ability to ship high-quality, scalable code independently and in fast-moving teams
- Strong communication skills and a product-thinking mindset
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, or OpenAI function calling
- Familiarity with supply chain, forecasting, or planning systems
- Experience with semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or vector databases like Weaviate, Pinecone, or FAISS
- Background in observability and monitoring for LLM-based applications
- Contributions to open-source LLM tooling or frameworks
Why Join Daybreak?
