Job Summary:
The Staffing Specialist supports the organization’s recruiting, staffing and onboarding programs.
Essential Functions:
- Support internal and external recruiting and staffing efforts, including reviewing resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, scheduling and conducting pre-employment testing, attending job fairs; assist internal job candidates with application process
- Identify and target opportunities for staffing (i.e., schools, job boards, employers, non-profit organizations, signage, etc.)
- Assist with New Employee Orientation (NEO) events
- Responsible for maintaining applicant tracking system integrity and organization
- Maintain appropriate communication with internal and external applicants through recruiting and onboarding process
- Take immediate and appropriate action in the investigation and remedy of complaints, such as discrimination, harassment or wage/hour claims
- Ensure that all federal, state, and local employment regulations are followed accurately and timely and records are maintained in compliance with HR practices and policies
- Responsible for reporting food safety issues
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bilingual (Spanish or Arabic) a plus
- High school graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor’s or other degree related to business/human resources preferred
- One to three years of
experience in recruiting and staffing
required
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility preferred
- Knowledge of current state and federal employment laws
- Excellent customer service, communication (oral/written) skills, project management and team collaboration skills
- Strong initiative, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain
a high level of confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams

- Experience using HRIS/ATS systems
- Ability to work successfully with all levels of applicants, employees and management
- Experience and/or ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, quickly changing environment
- Ability to communicate and understand instructions in English
Working Conditions/Physical Factors:
- Primarily an office environment but occasionally individual is on production floor with exposure to heat, dust and allergens.
- Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to ascend and descend building stairways and ramps to perform tasks required in job description.
- Position requires frequent sitting for long periods of time with occasional standing, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and twisting.
