Position Summary
Due to continued growth, RAI is expanding its in-house detailing team. We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailer with strong proficiency in SDS/2 to join us at our Athens, GA headquarters. This role is ideal for candidates living within a reasonable commuting distance or willing to relocate nearby. A hybrid schedule (part in-office, part remote) is available depending on experience.
Work Setting
- Primarily in-office in Athens, GA, with hybrid flexibility available for experienced candidates.
- This position is intended for candidates currently located within a few hours of Athens or planning to relocate nearby.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of structural steel detailing experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience using SDS/2 software
- Familiarity with AISC, OSHA, and AWS standards preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent team communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Bluebeam preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Sponsorship not available)
- Must be local to the Athens, GA area or willing to relocate nearby (Relocation assistance may be available)
Essential Functions
- Interpret construction documents to create accurate 3D models, shop drawings, and erection drawings using SDS/2
- Check and apply proper code and structural requirements to all connections
- Detail structural and miscellaneous steel, including stairs, handrails, and ladders
- Generate fabrication shop drawings and field erection plans
- Produce anchor setting plans and related layout drawings
- Create project reports and export files for internal coordination
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure quality and deadlines are met
