We encourage all our Associates to grow within the company. In fact, all Store Managers and Divisional Managers started as hourly Associates and were promoted with the help of an ongoing training and development program. Our commitment to quality extends to our team and we value the important role each Associate plays as a part of the Americano famiglia.
Everyone starts as a Level 1 Store Associate, and we provide the training you need to be successful and grow from there.
Prior work experience is not required. As a Store Associate, some of your responsibilities could include:
- Taking great care of our Customers
- Receiving and entering Customer orders with a smile and processing payments using the register/computer terminal at the counter, table, or over the phone.
- Organizing and handing out all food and drink orders. This Associate also serves as a final quality control check and only hands out product that meets Americano standards.
- Preparing our fresh Italian-American offerings ('Bay Area Best' sandwiches and pasta), including prepping, cooking, and presenting
- Working in a team-oriented environment. Our Associates anticipate when others need help and are gladly willing to assist. They also ask for help when needed!
- Creating a spotless and sparkling environment by cleaning their individual workstation, store, and surrounding area, which includes daily cleaning duties before and after each shift and ongoing cleaning responsibilities during business hours.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written) and/or Spanish (verbal)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Customer-focused mindset with a friendly and approachable demeanor

Qualifications include:
- Prior work experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus, but not required
- Genuinely friendly and positive attitude and willingness to work as a team
