The individual in this position is responsible for varied supervisory and stormwater system construction and maintenance duties that include supervising coordinating, inspecting, and participating in the construction of the city’s stormwater management system. Essential duties include the following:
- Plans and supervises the work of assigned personnel engaged in stormwater system maintenance activities.
- Supervises and participates in the repair and maintenance of assigned vehicles and/or equipment.
- Directs and supervises the excavation of new drainage ditches and the cleaning of existing ditches.
- Operates a Jet-Vac cleaning truck in the cleaning and jetting of storm drainpipes.
- Operates heavy equipment, including but not limited to dump truck, Lowboy, and tractor with bush hog or slope mower attachment.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
- Installs and maintains detention ponds.
- Pours and finishes concrete.
- Assists in maintenance of stormwater ditches, including weeding and trash removal.
- Completes required reports.
- Performs related duties.
