Navan is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager who will be responsible for supporting spend optimization and contract negotiations with a focus on our SaaS, Data, and Engineering spend. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to be a strategic partner and trusted adviser to the broader business.
The successful candidate must have strong data analysis, negotiation, problem solving, and communication skills. The position will report to the Director of Procurement.
What You’ll Do:
- Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Security, IT, FP&A and business partners.
- Collaborate with business partners to understand and execute goals across assigned projects, spend categories, and vendors.
- Develop negotiation strategy and lead commercial negotiation with vendors on net-new purchases and renewals.
- Lead and execute sourcing events (RFx).
- Review and mitigate any potential commercial risks in contracts, such as payment terms, marketing language, price cap and term length.
- Analyze data including spend analysis, demand scenario modeling, P&L impact analysis, and benchmark comparisons to support vendor selection and negotiation processes.
- Work with FP&A to understand headcount planning when building license forecast models for software deals.
- Proactively identify savings opportunities through consolidation, contract restructuring, rightsizing, RFx events, etc.
- Manage supplier relationships with a focus on cost, quality, service, delivery, and risk.
- Guide business partners on procurement process and best practices in order to adopt a value-driven mindset when purchasing on behalf of Navan.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 3 years of Strategic Sourcing experience; from a high-growth technology or fintech environment is preferred.
- Experience with P2P systems such as Zip.
- Ability to create and present business cases for net new contracts and strategic renewals.
- Ability to lead with context and effectively communicate across varying levels of leadership.
- Understands optimization opportunities when negotiating, such as demand management, consolidation, volume tiers, etc.
- Someone who thinks outside the box and has strong problem solving skills.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree.
For roles with on-target-earnings (OTE), the pay range includes both base salary and target incentive compensation. Target incentive compensation for some roles may include a ramping draw period. Compensation is higher for those who exceed targets. Candidates may receive more information from the recruiter.Pay Range$105,000—$180,000 USD
