You would be part of Meta’s Strategic Sourcing organization within Finance. Strategic Sourcing is responsible for end-to-end sourcing, market and spend analysis, contract negotiations, professional services and purchases. The Sourcing Manager will work closely with business teams across Meta and its affiliates to develop and execute sourcing, contracting and purchasing strategies to drive business objectives. This position will be supporting global projects, and may require traveling internationally.Strategic Sourcing Manager - Outsourcing Responsibilities
- Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Meta to strategically develop, implement and optimize outsourcing/sourcing and vendor management solutions for Generative AI (GenAI) data annotation and data collection vendors.
- Actively identify, track and manage issues and risks for projects.
- Identify, develop and deploy industry-leading supplier management, procurement and category management practices.
- Prepare and manage sourcing documents, contracts, statements of work and related procurement documents. Drive legal, financial and technological aspects of outsourcing programs.
- Lead contract negotiations that optimize value to the company.
- Ensure program success through effective performance management and governance methodologies, in collaboration with the business.
- Balance business requirements versus technical constraints and maximize business benefits.
- Manage complex outsourcing/sourcing projects (including planning, execution, measurement, and optimization of projects).
- Collaborate with Global Outsourcing/Sourcing Category Teams, Contract Management Teams, Procurement Operations Teams, and Procure-to-Pay to develop sound operational processes.
- Ensure regional/local processes are aligned to Meta’s global operating model. Understand and apply policies, standards and practices established for vendor management.
- Build and cultivate strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Manage, coordinate and support special projects as needed.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic sourcing updates to leadership.
- Domestic and International travel as needed to complete business objectives.
- "Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of outsourcing experience in technology or AI domains or equivalent work experience.
- Experience successfully negotiating complex contracts and managing vendor relationships.
- Proven program management skills and experience working with and building successful relationships with business stakeholders, cross-functional groups and third parties.
- Contracts negotiation experience with multiple levers beyond rates (e.g. volume discounts, quality thresholds, speed to quality, service levels etc.).
- Experience with balancing speed, quality, and cost in sourcing decisions for GenAI or in fast paced tech domain environments.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining dashboards and reporting tools to support sourcing decisions (e.g. Tableau, Thoughtspot, Power BI etc.).
- Experience synthesizing complex information into crisp, executive ready summaries and reporting for executive audiences.
- Experience using data (vendor benchmarks, KPIs) to drive sourcing and negotiation strategies.
- Experience driving change and improve end-to-end processes.
- Knowledge of legal, financial and technology components of outsourcing/sourcing.
- Experience managing a global vendor portfolio.
- Experience in program management and problem-solving using organizational skills.
- Experience in sourcing annotations for ML/AI model development and/or large language model development.
- Experience managing high volume data annotation sourcing programs.
- Experience working with BPOs, Crowdsource/freelance platforms, and boutique data vendors.
- Experience working in a technology startup or other dynamic, high-growth company.
- Experience with vendor program management, vendor accountability and optimizing performance.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience applying these skills to resolve issues strategically.
- Experience negotiating, breaking down cost models and knowledge on the drivers of ROI.
- Certification in project management or process improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black belt).
137.000 $/year to 195.000 $/year + bonus + equity + benefits
