Low Voltage Technician (Raleigh, NC)
Here at Superior, we are seeking reliable and motivated technicians to join our rapidly growing Structured Cabling & Security Installation team. This is a non-union position and may require travel.
Responsibilities
- Roughing in, terminating, and testing copper cabling. Fiber termination experience is a plus
- Installing pathway supports such as j-hooks and ladder trays
- Servicing/troubleshooting network cabling in a commercial environment
- Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures
Qualifications and Skills
- Technical skills and knowledge of structured cabling systems
- Ability to follow blueprints, notes, and specifications.
- Working knowledge of TIA and BICSI Standards
- Industry specific manufacturer certifications and BICSI training and/or certifications preferred.
- Excellent time management, planning and decision-making skills.
- Enjoys hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a professional team with a positive and professional attitude.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with AV and/or access control a plus.
Education
- High school or equivalent
- 1 year cabling experience
