About the role:
As a School Nutrition Technician, you will perform the required duties involved in the preparation and service of food items for student and staff meals. This role is essential in supporting a safe, clean, and welcoming cafeteria environment where students can receive nutritious, well-balanced meals each day. Responsibilities include assisting with food prep, portioning meals, operating kitchen equipment, maintaining sanitation standards, and providing friendly customer service. You'll work as part of a team to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting healthy eating habits among students.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work in areas that are often uncomfortable, wet, and slippery.
- Ability to work in the temperatures found in hot kitchens and the walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
- Ability to read recipes and complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written and oral instructions.
- Ability to understand and adhere to safety procedures and take precautions required to avoid cuts, bruises, burns, scalds, and falls.
- Ability to understand and follow directions in English, both oral and written, to ensure the safety of food preparation and service.
- Ability to keep accurate records.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds.
May be subject to transfer to another school cafeteria if necessary to arrange for more efficient operation.
