Position Summary
Working Directly with key Group Suppliers and the Supplier Development Team, this role is responsible for identifying and resolving chronic supplier materials and parts variances, shortages, design issues, expediting work transfers and achieving strategic deflation. Utilizes advanced manufacturing processing techniques, cellular based flows and machining knowledge to ensure suppliers and Parker value streams utilize the most efficient manufacturing methods available and deliver system components according to exacting specifications.
Responsibilities
- Works directly on-site with suppliers on a wide array of materials/parts requirements and preferred manufacturing techniques.
- Works collaboratively with division supplier development manager and participate within an HPT framework to resolve chronic shortages within supply base.
- Engages with supply base and multiple HPT’s to develop part families driving manufacturing efficiency.
- Support steam efforts to develop strategic deflation strategies and assist with execution of strategy.
- Represents multiple divisions and collaborates with division and group manufacturing leadership.
- Proactively work with Supply Chain Team to seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills thru engaging suppliers and peers to achieve common goals.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of time.
- Collaborates to establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on evaluations of supplier price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations.
- Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as price.
- Develops relationships with new and existing suppliers to foster partnership
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- College degree required; Advanced training in manufacturing and machining techniques preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- 10 plus years of Aerospace Manufacturing, Machining, Casting and Special Processing experience required.
- 10 or more years of manufacturing experience in diversified manufacturing process flows
- Extensive experience with tooling selection, quality inspection, castings, forgings and special processing techniques
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.
- Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities.
- Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals.
- Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
- Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of manufacturing technology trends
