We’re seeking a Supply Chain Strategist – Power Generation to support our electric utility’s power supply operations. In this critical role, you’ll serve as the key link between internal business units and external suppliers—managing sourcing, contracts, and inventory for complex equipment and services that keep our generation facilities running. You’ll build trusted relationships across departments, coordinate materials for planned outages and capital projects, and partner with leading key suppliers and manufacturers to ensure uninterrupted delivery of mission-critical components. Total Rewards:
A typical starting range for this position is $113,000 - $155,000 annually. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based upon the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience. Key responsibilities:
- Initiates and manages RFPs, providing support to internal customers and collaborating with them to develop specifications and commercial terms and conditions for bid documents.Negotiates, analyzes and administers contracts of a complex nature and high dollar value to ensure contract performance and compliance.
- Provides industry-specific expertise and strategic and tactical direction in managing complex contract negotiations and supplier relationships.
- Sources and maintains qualified key supplier sources. Conducts research for internal customers on lead times, pricing and leading technology improvements.
- Plans, schedules and coordinates activities designed to support outages and new projects.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure the availability of long-lead and critical-path components, especially for gas/steam turbines, emissions controls, and transformer systems.
- Analyzes inventory investment levels and recommends stocking levels to ensure operating department’s uninterrupted supply of critical maintenance and construction materials
Qualifications :
- Knowledge typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business and 7+ years relevant work experience in purchasing and inventory control required; or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Experience in purchasing, contract management, cost and price analysis, project planning, and business law helpful.
- Professional purchasing certification preferred.
- Ideal candidates with have experience in power generation or with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and supplies commonly used in the energy sector.
- Experience with Infor CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management (FSM) ERP software is preferred.
- Travel may be required to meet with suppliers, site operations and/or construction personnel on application and interpretation of contract terms and conditions.
