About Claravine
Claravine is The Data Standards Company®. We help the world's largest brands and agencies deliver on the promise of modern marketing by standardizing taxonomies, naming conventions, and metadata across all digital experiences — at the source of data creation. That is why a quarter of the Fortune 100 trust The Data Standards Cloud™ to define, apply, and connect standards across their entire marketing ecosystem.
Our customers are enterprise marketing and analytics teams at global brands spending $50M+ per year on advertising. They depend on clean, consistent data to make decisions worth billions of dollars. When that data is wrong, their analytics are wrong, their AI models are wrong, and their investments are wasted. We fix that — at the source, before the chaos starts.
We are backed by growth equity investors and have built a track record with category-leading brands. Now we are looking for a marketing leader who can take the story we have earned with customers and make it impossible for the market to ignore.
The Opportunity
This is not a typical SVP of Marketing position. This is a category-building role, not a demand-gen-only seat. You'll build and lead the marketing function that defines a category, which means you'll be as much a thought leader and executive presence as an operator.
You will report directly to our CRO, sit at the executive table, be accountable for pipeline, revenue and market position, and do it with a lean, high-performing, AI-powered team and the credibility that comes from serving some of the most sophisticated marketing organizations in the world.
What You Will Own
Category Leadership & Strategic Narrative
- Own Claravine's positioning as The Data Standards Company® and keep sharpening and expanding the category narrative
- Be Claravine's voice on keynote stages, in industry publications, analyst briefings, executive panels and podcasts
- Build and optimize competitive positioning that provides Sales and CS the language to win
- Manage Gartner, Forrester, IDC and other analyst relationships so Claravine is included and positioned well in market research
Demand Generation & Pipeline
- Own marketing's contribution to pipeline, with clear attribution, targets and accountability
- Design and execute an enterprise ABM program targeting the Global 2000 accounts spending $50M+ on advertising
- Drive demand through content, events, digital, partner co-marketing and direct outreach, focused on what converts at enterprise ACV
- Elevate existing full-funnel reporting and attribution the board, CRO and CEO trust
Product Marketing
- Lead messaging, positioning, competitive intelligence, sales enablement and launch strategy
- Turn data standards and taxonomy management into business-value stories for CMO, VP Marketing and marketing analytics buyers
- Develop pricing and packaging recommendations with product and finance
- Build and maintain a new business sales and expansion enablement library that measurably improves win rates and ACV
Content & Thought Leadership
- Run a content strategy that builds awareness, trust and inbound demand at every stage of the enterprise buyer journey
- Commission and create authoritative research, benchmarks, and frameworks that make Claravine the definitive source on marketing data standards
- Build customer advocacy: case studies, references, advisory boards and executive roundtables
Team & Operations
- Build, lead and develop a team of 5-10 across product marketing, demand gen, content, xEO and contractors
- Own the marketing budget and P&L, accountable for the ROI on every dollar spent
- Use AI-powered workflows and tools to maximize the output of a lean team, then expand it
- Set the reporting cadence and dashboards that keep marketing visible and trusted by the executive team
What We Are Looking For
Required
- 12+ years in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology marketing, with 4+ years in VP, SVP, or CMO roles leading the entire Marketing function
- Proven success building category narrative and thought leadership at a company selling to enterprise marketing leaders (CMO, VP Marketing, marketing analytics, marketing technology)
- Ownership of pipeline and revenue targets, with specific, quantified results you can point to
- Experience running or closely supporting 6-12 month enterprise sales cycles with minimum six-figure ASPs
- A record of leading lean teams of 5–15. You multiply output rather than ask for headcount
- Hands-on use of AI that has changed how a marketing org operates, not just experiments
- Excellent writing, verbal communication and presenting. Your bylines are compelling, your presentations are clear and your presence with executive buyers is authoritative
Preferred
- Deep understanding of marketing data, analytics and measurement. You don't just talk about data quality; you've felt the pain of bad data
- Strong relationships in the enterprise marketing technology ecosystem: with analysts, trade press, marketing technology vendors, and industry organizations
What Sets This Apart
- You will be defining a category, not competing in a commodity market. The narrative opportunity is significant
- You will have genuine executive access and influence - not a seat at a table two levels below where decisions are made
- Your buyer is one of the most respected roles in business: the enterprise CMO. You will build relationships with and be credible to the best marketing minds in the world
- Claravine’s product actually works. Customers renew. The case studies are real. You will not be building marketing fiction on top of a weak product.
At Claravine, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation, equity and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is SVP $200,000-$240,000.
Skills mentioned

Claravine's journey began in 2012, rooted in a firsthand understanding of the chaotic reality facing digital marketers. Originally founded as Tracking First by Craig Scribner, the company emerged from the frustration of seeing massive investments in digital analytics undermined by minor inconsistencies. Marketing teams were drowning in spreadsheets, struggling to maintain data governance across fragmented channels and agencies. What started as a solution to enforce uniform tracking codes has evolved into a comprehensive platform that redefines data integrity for the global enterprise. Today, rebranded as Claravine and led by CEO Verl Allen, the company has established itself as 'The Data Standards Company'. Their flagship product, The Data Standards Cloud, empowers brands to standardize, govern, and connect data across every team, system, and channel. By moving beyond reactive data cleaning to proactive data standards, Claravine helps Fortune 1000 companies like Under Armour and Ancestry unlock genuine marketing insights and drive business outcomes. The company fosters a remote-first culture, bringing together a diverse team of experts dedicated to solving the complex challenge of data integrity in the modern digital ecosystem.
