Switchboard Operator - Full Time - Variable

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Fayetteville, North Carolina Visitor Management Clerical Variable (United States of America) Operates the switchboard console to route incoming, outgoing, and inter-hospital calls. Performs other communications related duties including contacting appropriate On-call personnel and overhead paging at multiple facilities. Promotes a positive and professional image of the Carelink Call Center and of Cape Fear Valley Health system.Three years of switchboard experience in a major 2000 + line facility preferred. Hospital experience and/or medical terminology preferred. Computer literacy/training required. Ability to handle and diffuse stressful situations (sometimes involving life and death) required. Must be able to remember and follow policies and procedures during times of crisis. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must type 40 wpm. Must be able to operate and manage multiple computer software programs simultaneously. Must be able to operate multiline phone system and overhead paging systems.Hearing and verbal ability to interact professionally with staff managers and vendors. Must have pleasant sounding and clear and distinct vocal diction for overhead paging and telephonic customer service interaction. Visual acuity to deal with computer display terminals and printouts. Manual dexterity to use standard keyboard are both required.
