Job Posting: Dual-Certified Tank Inspector (STI SP001 & API 653)
Position Overview:
We are seeking to add tank inspections to our product offerings with our clients, we are currently already performing linings, coatings and leak repair in plants on industrial tanks.
Looking for a self starter who can stand up inspection operations and help grow the tank inspection business
We are seeking a skilled Tank Inspector to perform compliance inspections on aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) in industrial facilities, including steel mills, refineries, and chemical plants. This role involves conducting formal external and internal inspections to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and structural integrity under EPA SPCC regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform STI SP001 inspections on shop-fabricated and small field-erected tanks (up to ~300,000 gallons).
- Conduct API 653 inspections on large field-erected tanks
- Prepare detailed reports, recommend repairs, and support SPCC plan implementation.
- Handle routine visual checks and collaborate with facility teams.
Requirements:
- Current STI SP001 certification (required).
- Current API 653 certification (required).
- Experience working inside plants, mills
- business fundamentals to start up an inspection division to compliment our current offers
- 3+ years of experience in inspections.
- Knowledge of OSHA confined space entry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel to job sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
