About Al-Futtaim

Established in the 1930s, Al-Futtaim is one of the most diversified and progressive privately held regional businesses, headquartered in Dubai. Operating across more than 20 countries, the Group spans automotive, financial services, real estate, retail and health. With more than 40,000 employees, Al-Futtaim represents over 200 of the world’s most recognised brands, including Toyota, Lexus, IKEA, ACE and Marks & Spencer. Driven by its purpose to enrich lives and elevate communities, Al-Futtaim focuses on digital innovation, AI, sustainable growth and strategic partnerships, creating long-term value for customers, communities and partners while building a responsible legacy for future generations.

Overview Of The Role:

  • The Manager of Tax Services | Data & Digital is responsible for accelerating the digitalization of Al-Futtaim Group's Tax Operations by managing the tax data agenda and implementing data-driven and AI-enabled solutions. The role enhances tax compliance and reporting accuracy, reduces manual effort, and supports adherence to UAE and regional tax regulations. The incumbent leads efforts in automating tax processes, ensuring digital readiness for regulatory changes, and maintaining robust data governance. Success in this role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, managing projects that simplify and standardize finance processes, and ensuring compliance with IT security standards. Given its pivotal position, the role directly impacts the financial and reputational standing of the organization.

What You Will Do:

Tax Data Management & Data Quality

  • Own the end-to-end tax data set used for VAT, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing and e-invoicing across AFG entities, from SAP source to submission-ready output.
  • Build and maintain data extraction, mapping, and transformation routines to produce clean, auditable tax data.
  • Design and run automated data quality and exception checks.
  • Maintain documented data lineage and reconciliation between statutory ledgers and tax filings.

Digital & AI-Enabled Automation of Tax Processes

  • Identify and prioritize automation and AI use cases across Tax Operations.
  • Develop, test, and deploy solutions using Python, Power Platform, RPA, and approved AI/agent tooling.
  • Produce prototypes rapidly, validate benefit with process owners, and integrate successful pilots into BAU.
  • Maintain solution documentation, version control, testing evidence, and hand-over to operational users.

E-Invoicing & Regulatory Digital Readiness

  • Support the UAE e-invoicing program from a data and integration perspective.
  • Analyze master data and transactional gaps against regulatory schema requirements and drive remediation.
  • Support testing, validation, and cut-over activities for e-invoicing and other digital tax reporting obligations.

Reporting, Analytics & Insight

  • Build and maintain dashboards and analytics covering tax compliance status, filing calendar, exposure indicators, and process performance.
  • Convert tax and finance data into clear, decision-ready insight for senior Finance stakeholders.
  • Support audit, tax authority, and internal control requests with accurate, traceable data extracts.

Governance, Controls & Risk

  • Ensure all digital solutions comply with AFG IT security, data privacy, SAP access/GRC, and change-management standards.
  • Embed controls and audit trails into every automated process.
  • Escalate data, control, or compliance risks promptly with proposed mitigation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Delivery

  • Act as a translator between Tax/Finance process owners and technical teams.
  • Partner with GBS towers, Group Tax, divisional finance teams, IT, and external advisors/vendors.
  • Train and enable Tax Operations users on delivered tools; build internal capability rather than dependency.

Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Currency

  • Maintain current knowledge of UAE and regional tax digitalisation.
  • Benchmark against Group and divisional best practice to propose improvements to the Tax digital roadmap.
  • Contribute to standardization and simplification of Tax Operations processes ahead of automation.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Hands-on development experience with Python, JavaScript or equivalent for data processing, automation, or AI solutions.
  • Strong data engineering and analysis skills, including advanced Excel/Power Query, data extraction, and SQL.
  • Experience building AI/ML or generative-AI solutions such as classification models or chatbots.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting fundamentals, tax concepts, and project delivery methodologies.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 4-7 years' experience delivering data, automation, or AI solutions in an enterprise, shared services, government, or consulting environment, with at least 2 years of hands-on build experience.
  • Demonstrable track record of at least one AI or automation solution taken from concept to live production use.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
