Job Title: Technical Director – High School Theatre (United Entertainment Solutions Partner Program)

Location: Partner High School Campus (varies by assignment)
Position Summary:
United Entertainment Solutions (UES) is seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Director to support high school theatre programs through our UESEd initiative. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with mentorship, guiding students through the full production process while ensuring safe, efficient, and professional-quality technical execution. The Technical Director will work closely with school staff and UES mentors to deliver meaningful, skill-building experiences for students in scenic, lighting, sound, and stagecraft disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the school’s Theatre Director and UES mentors to plan and execute all technical aspects of theatrical productions.
- Supervise and mentor student crews in areas such as set construction, lighting, sound, rigging, and backstage operations.
- Lead the design and implementation of scenic, lighting, and audio systems in alignment with the production’s artistic vision and educational goals.
- Ensure all technical operations meet safety standards and follow best practices in school and professional theatre environments.
- Coordinate with UES to provide students with access to industry professionals, tools, and resources through the UESEd Mentor Program.
- Maintain and manage theatre equipment, tools, and facilities in collaboration with school staff.
- Support additional school events requiring technical assistance (e.g., concerts, assemblies, ceremonies).
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and empowering environment that encourages student ownership and creativity.
Qualifications:
- Professional experience in technical theatre, live events, or production management.
- Strong working knowledge of scenic construction, lighting systems, sound design, and stage management.
- Experience working with or mentoring high school students in an educational or extracurricular setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during production periods.
- Familiarity with tools and software such as QLab, ETC lighting consoles, Vectorworks, or similar is a plus.

Pay: $36.00 - $46.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 17 per week
