The Knowledge-Base Analyst (Technical Writer) will play a pivotal role in capturing, structuring, and disseminating critical operational knowledge across Pearson Virtual Schools (PVS). This role requires a strong command of technical writing, a deep understanding of digital education platforms, and the ability to translate complex processes into clear, accessible documentation. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, instructional designers, assurance analysts, and AI solution architects to ensure that knowledge assets support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Technical Documentation & Content Development
- Create, maintain, and update knowledge articles, process documentation, SOPs, and user guides aligned with PVS editorial and accessibility standards.
- Translate technical and operational concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with SMEs to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation, especially in AI-powered tools, assessment generators, and content delivery systems.
Knowledge Management & Governance
- Implement and maintain knowledge structures that support searchability, version control, and content lifecycle management.
- Partner with the PVS Comms Ops team to align messaging tone, style, and delivery across platforms.
Operational Enablement & Quality Assurance
- Support the Quality Assurance Analyst team in validating documentation against quality, accessibility, and compliance benchmarks.
- Participate in design-thinking sprints and product discovery sessions to identify knowledge gaps and proactively address them.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Leverage analytics tools (e.g., Calabrio) to identify content usage trends, training gaps, and opportunities for knowledge optimization.
- Contribute to the development of AI-assisted documentation workflows and content generation pilots.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Instructional Design, Information Science, or related field and/or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, knowledge management, or content strategy—preferably in an EdTech or SaaS environment.
- Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, MadCap Flare, SharePoint) and familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and customer support.
- Experience with AI tools for content generation or analytics is a plus.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $50,000 - $55,000.
