About The Role

Position Summary


First Bank of Wyoming’s Kemmerer branch is seeking an OUTGOING, TALENTED, and ENTHUSIASTIC individual to join our Team as a full time Teller/New Accounts Representative! This position is the “front-line” of the bank and plays an essential role in attaining customer satisfaction in the day-to-day process. The Teller/New Accounts Representative provides outstanding service to customers while accurately performing account or teller transactions. They promote increased customer use of bank products and services to enhance customer experiences. New Accounts Representatives open all types of deposit accounts, issue debit cards, assist customers with online banking, and provide other services related to deposit accounts. Tellers process customer deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments and provide other services to customers. Professionalism, confidentiality, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability are a must! In addition, you will ensure compliance with regulations and audit standards related to job responsibilities while adhering to and exemplifying our Core Values: Embrace Responsibility, Execute with Excellence, Pursue Growth & Learning, Thrive Together.


Essential Functions:
  • Actively greet all customers, learn their names, and build lasting relationships to foster customer loyalty and satisfaction. Develop and retain customer relationships by actively listening and assisting customers with their requests. Provide extraordinary customer service in alignment with the Quality Service Standards and My Service Pledge: Smile, Eye Contact, Refer to Customers by Name, Viable Options – Never Say No, Instant Acknowledgment, Customers Always Come First, End with Thank You.
  • Assist customers with financial requests, account questions, and product inquiries. Take ownership of customer issues and ensure resolution to their satisfaction. Maintain a positive attitude and display courteous, respectful behavior toward customers and coworkers. Represent the bank professionally through appearance, punctuality, confidentiality, and adaptability. Regular and predictable attendance in order to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers. Maintain physical presence in the workplace and full alertness during working hours to ensure effective customer service and overall job performance.
  • Conduct customer financial transactions within time limits and established guidelines, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, cashier’s checks, wires, credit card advances, and business change orders. Accurately balance teller drawer, cash vault, coin machine, and Teller Cash Recycler (TCR) daily. Maintain cash limits and safeguard assigned currency by adhering to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, cash variations, opening/closing procedures, and dual-control processing. Sort, count, and strap money for vault/TCR transactions. Process overages and shortages according to the Cash Variation Policy. Accountable for all cash/currency handled.
  • Detect and manage risk in every transaction, including identifying counterfeit currency and fraudulent activity. Stay current on fraud warnings and initiate discussions with customers regarding specific transactions as defined by procedure. Be well-informed on all safety and security protocols and notify management of any situation that may cause a security threat.
  • Assist with opening and closing all account types including checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, HSAs, safe deposit boxes, and online banking. Have a good knowledge of online banking products and be able to assist customers with enrollment and troubleshooting. Support wire transfers, debit card reissues, account research, and other requests using systems such as 4Sight, Synergy, and Card Wizard. Introduce new products and services such as credit cards, debit cards, and online banking when applicable.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, customer inquiries, alerts, stop payments, and telephone transfers. Exhibit knowledge of check handling tasks including endorsements, Reg. CC (exception holds), OFAC, and check cashing policies. Use coin and currency counters, bait money procedures, and alarm systems effectively.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and internal inquiries regarding policies, practices, and products. Exercise independent judgment under minimal supervision. Answer questions about products and services and resolve problems within authority. Refer issues beyond authority to supervisors with recommendations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly work area, always aware of the customer’s view and keeping confidential information secure. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy. Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the dress code.
  • Complete all required bank training courses within assigned timeframes and take responsibility for understanding training content. Seek clarification from supervisors when needed. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and lobby displays.
  • Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and significant issues. Provide superior internal and external customer service, demonstrating courtesy, respect, and self-governance toward both customers and coworkers.
  • Participate in community service and bank-sponsored activities that support the mission and values of First Bank of Wyoming. Adhere to First Bank of Wyoming’s Core Values. Comply with all applicable banking laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Control.

About You

Qualifications:

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, is required
  • 2 years’ recent teller and/or New Accounts experience, is required
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered

Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills, effectively prioritizes multiple tasks, and performs under pressure while meeting deadlines. Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and flexibility in day-to-day activities are essential.
  • Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills, is comfortable writing routine reports and presenting information, and can follow complex written and oral instructions. Maintains confidentiality, engages in community involvement, and transitions seamlessly between roles to meet customer needs.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and ten-key, with working knowledge of standard office equipment. Capable of working independently and collaboratively, applying common sense understanding, and maintaining professionalism in all interactions.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Working conditions: Must be able to routinely perform work both indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level and outside in sometimes inclement weather.

Must be capable of occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.

Mental Requirements: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
