Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize lab test activities based on project deadlines and resource availability.
- Drive continuous improvement of test procedures, lab processes, data reporting, and team workflows to increase quality and reduce cycle times.
- Support the development of strategies for test lab capabilities, processes, and infrastructure in alignment with business and product goals.
- Assist in planning test activities including capacity, technology development, and digital integration.
- Support efforts to improve lab efficiency and maintain accurate test documentation.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the North America test lab, while coordinating closely with test teams in Zhuhai and Shenzhen (ATZ divisions).
- Ensure global standardization of test methods, documentation, and test equipment calibration.
- Support coordination with external labs as needed for extended testing capacity, and manage subcontractor relationships and performance.
- Analysis lessons learned from testing both Amphenol and competitor products to inform future designs and improve quality.
- Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Product Management, and Quality teams during product development cycles to define and implement test strategies.
- Collaborate with design and field application engineers, as well as customers, to define testing requirements and deliver accurate, effective results.
- Participate in DFMEAs and design reviews to embed testability and compliance from the earliest stages.
- Maintain compliance with industry, company and customer standards (IEC, UL, ISO, IATF, etc.).
- Ensure safe operating procedures for all test activities.
- Support continuous improvement activities in documentation, traceability, and lab safety.
- Serve as subject matter expert in electro-mechanical and connector testing (power, signal, high-speed, etc.).
- Oversee and validate test plans, protocols, and reports, ensuring thorough data analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Leverage computer tools (e.g., Minitab, Power BI) for test data analysis, reliability studies, tracking performance and root cause investigations.
- Provide guidance to test engineers and technicians as needed.
- Encourage a collaborative and technically sound work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in product testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or lab management role.
- Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical test methodologies and equipment.
- Proven experience with IEC, UL, ISO, and IATF standards.
- Familiarity with APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and reliability engineering concepts.
- Strong statistical and data analysis skills using Minitab, or equivalent tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power BI, Copilot); experience with VBA or automation scripting is a plus.
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, ProE) and PDM is an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
