We are seeking an experienced Cognos TM1 Architect to join a leading client’s enterprise planning and analytics team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of TM1 applications to support advanced financial planning, reporting, and forecasting initiatives.
This is a multi-year consulting engagement focused on delivering scalable, high-performance solutions using Cognos TM1 (v11.2 or higher) and related BI tools. You will collaborate closely with finance, IT, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable, automated models and workflows that enable strategic decision-making.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled architect with deep TM1 expertise, a strong financial systems background, and proven success designing enterprise-grade planning and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- TM1 Solution Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Cognos TM1 applications (v11.2+), ensuring scalability, accuracy, and reliability.
- Model Development: Create and optimize cubes, dimensions, and hierarchies to support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting requirements.
- Process Automation: Build and manage complex TurboIntegrator (TI) processes, chores, and scripts to automate data integration and workflows.
- Web Applications: Design and maintain web sheets, static and active forms, and contributor applications for end-user access.
- Security Configuration: Set up data, application, and object-level security to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance.
- Platform Administration: Install, configure, and upgrade TM1 and related Cognos BI tools, ensuring environment stability and performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with finance, IT, and business teams to translate requirements into effective data models and solutions.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and fine-tune TM1 processes, cube structures, and reporting workflows to maximize efficiency.
- Documentation & Training: Produce functional and technical design documentation and provide user training for platform adoption.
- Disaster Recovery & Maintenance: Support environment maintenance, backups, and disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in the development, maintenance, and architecture of Cognos TM1 applications (v11.2+).
- Strong experience designing complex TurboIntegrator (TI) processes, chores, rules, and workflows.
- Proven expertise in Cognos TM1 Perspectives, Architect, Performance Modeler, and Contributor Web.
- Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and administration of TM1 and Cognos BI tools.
- Background in financial systems or accounting modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets) is highly desirable.
Technical Competencies:
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for data integration and automation.
- Advanced knowledge of cube modeling, dimensions, hierarchies, and security configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills in enterprise BI and planning environments.
- Familiarity with Cognos BI reporting and integration best practices.
- Cognos or TM1 certifications are highly preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of working across technical and finance teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, with a focus on precision and scalability.
- Proven ability to document technical and functional designs clearly and effectively.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced, project-driven environments.
