Trailer Technician – Southern Trailer (Englewood, FL)
About the role
Southern Trailer is a family‑owned dealership serving Southwest Florida for 50+ years. We need a dependable Trailer Technician who can safely unload stacked trailer deliveries, keep the lot organized, and handle mid‑level repairs.
Key responsibilities
- Hook up, secure, and remove stacked trailers with a forklift (work is performed at height; must be comfortable climbing on trailer stacks)
- Unload trailer deliveries and inspect for freight damage
- Pull sold trailers from inventory and position them for customer pickup
- Clean and detail trailers before delivery (wash, sweep, touch‑up paint)
- Perform mid‑level repairs: wheel/tire replacement, bearing service & repack, touch‑up painting, light 12‑volt lighting fixes, minor fabrication/accessory installs
- Keep tools, yard, and shop area clean and safe; follow all safety policies
- Pitch in on other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
What we’re looking for
- Hands‑on mechanical experience (trailers, automotive, marine, or equipment)
- Forklift operation skills and comfort working at heights
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work outdoors in Florida heat/humidity
- Basic tool knowledge (hand tools, torque wrench, power tools)
- Safety‑first attitude, reliable attendance, and solid teamwork skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
