The Impact You'll Make
As our Transportaiton & Customs Operations Specialist, you’ll be the on-site logistics point of contact for our Tallahassee, Florida location, helping domestic and international shipments move efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with transportation and customs requirements. This is an on-site position where your ability to solve problems in real time will directly support our operations and customers. You’ll bring visibility to critical shipments, resolve transportation challenges, and build strong partnerships with carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams. Your insights will also help us improve logistics performance as the Tallahassee operation continues to grow. You’ll also gain exposure to domestic and international transportation, customs and cross-border processes, logistics-provider management, and performance improvement, creating opportunities to continue growing your supply chain and logistics expertise.What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments across domestic and international transportation modes to support timely, efficient delivery.
- Track shipments and resolve exceptions, including delays, reroutes, returns, documentation issues, and customs-related challenges, to minimize disruption.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to escalate issues, obtain freight quotes, and execute time-sensitive and project shipments.
- Guide site teams on transportation and customs requirements, helping maintain routing, import/export, and broker-process compliance.
- Monitor logistics KPIs and service performance, partnering across functions to identify recurring issues and improve service, cost, and operational results.
What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years of experience in transportation or logistics operations, including hands-on responsibility for shipment execution and issue resolution.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international transportation, including U.S. Customs and customs broker import/export processes.
- Experience resolving shipment exceptions, obtaining freight quotes, and managing escalations for time-sensitive or project-related shipments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with operations teams, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other partners.
- Effective organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to monitor KPIs, prioritize competing needs, and drive issues through resolution.
