Kumon Math & Reading Center of Aptos is an after-school academic enrichment program for students in preschool through high school. We are searching for a reliable, friendly candidate to guide students through our curriculum of math and reading worksheets and to assist in day-to-day operation of our center. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working with children, understands how they learn, and is dedicated to creating a nurturing learning atmosphere for every student. Candidates must be comfortable with both math AND English/language arts through at least the junior high level. Preference will be given to candidates who have excellent skills in math AND/OR English through the high school level. This is an in-person position. This is NOT seasonal position; candidate should expect to start in August/September 2025 and continue working throughout the school year, next summer, and beyond.
Responsibilities include:
- Grading classwork and homework
- Working with children in the classroom to promote their learning and development
- Performing administrative tasks such as organizing work materials, entering data into our computer system, etc.
- Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment
- Troubleshooting minor technical tablet/computer issues and facilitating our digital study program
Must be able to work some or all of the following hours:
- 2:00pm–6:00pm Monday through Thursday
This is a fulfilling, fun work environment with flexible yet consistent hours. Choose your preferred schedule: work as little as 1 day a week (~4 hours) or as many as 4 days (approximately 16 hours per week maximum). Great after-school position for high school or college students. Cover letter REQUIRED.
