Examples of Work
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of BAM staff involved in the selection, investigation, and analysis of UI claims for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all investigative procedures meet federal guidelines outlined by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).
- Review cases to make sure quality and completeness are met.
- Ensure audits by BAM staff are processed in a timely manner.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and performance feedback to staff.
- Prepare and analyze statistical reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with federal and state partners to interpret and implement changes to BAM methodology, regulations, or reporting requirements.
- Develop and update procedures, workflows, and best practices to enhance program efficiency and compliance. Review/identify/implement changes and/or material updates.
- Prepare cases and materials to document BAM unit performance for state and federal audits and travel to peer reviews and/or training.
Location: NDOL Administration Building, 550 South 16th Street, Lincoln
Work Schedule: 8am - 5pm; Monday - Friday
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, social/behavioral sciences, accounting, human resources or related field and 2 years’ experience in delivering program services within a human resource agency, organization, or program. Experience leading, coordinating, directing, monitoring and/or supervising others. Relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in unemployment insurance programs or related governmental program oversight. Experience with federal BAM software systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of: UI laws, policies, and BAM investigative procedures; State and federal Unemployment Insurance laws, processes and procedures. Familiarity with federal DOL performance standards and reporting systems; the principles and techniques of leading, monitoring and/or supervising others.
Skilled in: Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to: plan, direct, and evaluate the work of staff; learn and interpret agency policies, procedures and guidelines related to assigned program areas; communicate electronically, on paper, or in person to disseminate information; analyze and interpret programs and the procedures/processes used to achieve agency goals; analyze data to identify relevant facts.
