Our small, dedicated team of developers, designers, and project managers creates software that supports large-scale health initiatives for State and Local Health Departments, Federal agencies, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and other entities dedicated to managing the health of underserved and vulnerable populations.
What We Need
We are seeking a talented and creative User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer to our growing UI/UX team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting a means for exceptional user experiences through thoughtful design and a deep understanding of human-centered design principles.
As a UX/UI Designer, you will collaborate closely with multiple cross-functional product and project management teams, including Product Managers and Software Developers to create intuitive, friction-free, and aesthetically engaging digital products that meet the needs and preferences of our target audience.
What You Would Be Doing
- Figma: Work primarily within Figma on a variety of needs, products, and tasks related to user flows and journeys, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, high-fidelity documentation for development handoffs, design systems, new tools or features, enhancements to existing experiences, etc.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Translate business and user requirements into design opportunities using wireframing and rapid prototyping.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Project Managers, Product Managers, Software Developers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless integration of design and functionality in the final product.
- Information Architecture: Have an awareness of documenting and designing the structure and organization of information of our products and solutions, to ensure it is easily accessible, understandable, and usable for our users.
- Human-Centered Design: Apply human-centered design principles to iterate and refine design concepts based on feedback and testing, ensuring the final product aligns with the user goals and expectations.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design decisions and identify areas for improvement, making data-driven design adjustments as necessary.
- Multitask: Ability to multitask on a variety of projects and pivot priorities quickly according to new user insights or business requirements.
- Design System: Ability to design creatively while adhering to a design system. Continue to help evolve our company design system as we grow.
- Visual Design Integration: Collaborate with visual designers to ensure the visual design elements align with the overall experience strategy and brand identity.
- Stay current with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest UX design trends, tools, and best practices, and integrate new insights into design processes.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Media Arts, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role.
- Proficiency in UX/UI design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, or similar. Preferred experience in Figma for collaboration with Dev teams, as design to development handoff in Figma is new.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility standards.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous projects and the ability to articulate design decisions and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with front-end development principles and capabilities is a plus.
- Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.
- Certification in UX design or related fields is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
